White Christmas Lyrics

The White Christmas lyrics which were penned by Irving Berlin and sung by Bing Crosby in two great films, Holiday Inn and the White Christmas movie, are reproduced below.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
to hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
to hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
with every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright,
and may all your Christmases be white

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
just like the ones I used to know
May your days be merry and bright,
and may all your Christmases be white

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
with every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright,
and may all your Christmases be white

May your days be merry and bright, and may all your Christmases be white

Irving Berlin wrote the White Christmas lyrics in 1940 and the song was first performed by Bing Crosby on radio in 1941. It is believed that White Christmas sold over 50 million copies and is the best selling single of all time.

It is further estimated that if all the different versions by various artists are included than the total sales of the song would be over 100 million.

Whether those sales figures are accurate or not there is no doubt that Irving Berlin wrote one of the most iconic and identifiable songs of all time. No wonder Bing Crosby was reputed to have said "a jackdaw with a cleft palate could have sung it successfully."
